Ashanti and Nelly have announced that they are engaged and expecting a baby.
Ashanti revealed the good news in a video she posted on Instagram with the caption, “Baby baby baby baby….” Nelly shared the video on his Instagram page.
Ashanti disclosed the news of her engagement to the rapper to Essence.
“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation. Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience,” she said in a statement.
The musician couple confirmed in September that they were reuniting a decade after ending their romantic relationship in 2013.
The expected baby will be their first child together.
43-year-old Ashanti will be welcoming her first child, while Nelly, 49, has two children from previous relationships and two adopted children.
