Australia's Splendour In The Grass Cancelled Due To 'Unexpected Events'

March 30, 2024
in Entertainment

Australia’s Splendour In The Grass festival has been cancelled due to “unexpected events”.

The cancellation comes just two weeks after the festival announced its lineup for the three-day event and tickets went on sale to the general public.

Kylie Minogue, Future and Arcade Fire were announced as headliners for the music festival, which was originally scheduled to be held in the beach town of Byron Bay in July.

The festival organizers announced the cancellation in a statement posted on social media, saying, “With a heavy heart, we’re announcing the cancellation of Splendour In The Grass 2024, originally scheduled from Friday 19 July to Sunday 21 July in Ngarindjin/North Byron Parklands.”

“We know there were many fans excited for this year’s line-up and all the great artists planning to join us, but due to unexpected events, we’ll be taking the year off,” they added.

The organizers confirmed that ticket holders will be refunded automatically, and refunds will immediately be processed by Moshtix.

Live Nation, the producers of the annual event, said in a statement that they will be “working hard to be back in future years.”
