The 2024 CMT Music Awards will honor the late Toby Keith with an all-star tribute featuring Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson and Sammy Hagar, backed by Keith’s band.
Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens will also make special appearances on Sunday, two months after Keith lost his battle with cancer.
Keith sold more than 44 million albums and recently received a posthumous induction into the 2024 Country Music Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, the Oklahoman released 61 singles that charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, and 32 of them made it to No. 1. In 2021, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.
Kelsea Ballerini will host the CMT Music Awards, which will air live from Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on Sunday on CBS. The show will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
A new one-hour tribute special “CMT Music Awards Celebrates Toby Keith” will premiere following the encore showing of the 2024 CMT Music Awards at 10 PM, ET/PT, on April 11 on CMT.
