Maggie Rogers recently released a new single, “So Sick Of Dreaming,” from her upcoming third studio album, Don’t Forget Me.
Rogers, who co-wrote and produced “So Sick Of Dreaming” with Ian Fitchuk, said in a statement that Don’t Forget Me was written over the span of five days, and “So Sick Of Dreaming” was written “just before lunch on day two.”
“I wanted to make an album that sounded like a Sunday afternoon,” explains Rogers about the forthcoming record she co-produced with Fitchuk. “Worn in denim. A drive in your favorite car. No make up, but the right amount of lipstick. Something classic.”
“The mohair throw and bottle of whiskey in Joan Didion’s motel room. An old corvette. Vintage, but not overly Americana,” she added. “I wanted to make an album to belt at full volume alone in your car, a trusted friend who could ride shotgun and be there when you needed her.”
She penned two of the album’s ten songs, and co-wrote the rest with Fitchuk.
Rogers previously shared “The Kill” and the title track from Don’t Forget Me, which is due to arrive on April 12 via Capitol Records. The singer debuted these two songs as well “So Sick Of Dreaming” during her sold-out Summer of 23 North American headline tour.
