South African-born singer broke Tyla has canceled her upcoming World Tour due to a worsening injury.
She revealed the bad news on Instagram, saying, “Words cannot describe my frustration of this pivotal point in my career.”
“For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened,” she added, without specifying the injury. “I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes, but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.”
“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour,” Tyla continued. “In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”
Tyla expressed hope that she will be able to return to the stage in the summer.
The world tour was scheduled to begin in Norwegian capital Oslo on March 21. The North American leg was set to begin in San Francisco on April 22
The South African singer and songwriter said North American ticketholders will be automatically refunded. Fans who bought tickets for international dates will be contacted by vendors.
