Dolly Parton Joins Melissa Manchester For Duet Of 'Midnight Blue'

Iconic artists Dolly Parton and Melissa Manchester have teamed up on “Midnight Blue,” a duet that will feature on Manchester’s 25th studio album, RE:VIEW.

RE:VIEW celebrates the artist’s 50th year anniversary by reinterpreting some of her biggest hits, with an assist from some special friends. The album also features collaboration with Kenny Loggins on “Whenever I Call You Friend,” which the two wrote in the mid-’70s.

“Midnight Blue” was written by Manchester alongside Carole Bayer Sager and produced by Vini Poncia with an executive production by Richard Perry. It was released in April 1975 as the first single from Manchester’s third studio album, Melissa.

In the U.S., the single became her first top ten entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 6. Additionally, it peaked at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
