Lorde Shares Cover Of 'Take Me To The River' From Talking Heads Tribute Album

April 2, 2024
in Entertainment

Lorde recently shared a cover of “Take Me to the River” from an upcoming Talking Heads tribute album.

Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute To Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense will feature 16 artists performing songs from the band’s pivotal 1984 live album Stop Making Sense.

Paramore previously shared a cover of “Burning Down the House” as the lead single from the tribute album.

“Take Me to the River” was originally written by singer Al Green and guitarist Mabon “Teenie” Hodges for 1974’s Al Green Explores Your Mind. Talking Heads covered the song for 1978’s More Songs About Buildings and Food and played it live for 1984’s Stop Making Sense.

Besides Paramore and Lorde, the tribute album will also feature Miley Cyrus, The National, Girl In Red, Blondshell and BadBadNotGood.
