Quavo Launches Program To Award $100,000 To Groups Seeking To Curb Gun Violence In Atlanta

Quavo has launched a program to award $100,000 to groups seeking to curb gun violence in Atlanta.

Under the rapper’s Spark Grants initiative, 10 organizations will be awarded $10,000 each to help minimize gun violence and spread awareness around the state of Georgia.

The recipients will be announced on June 18, the birthday of Quavo’s late nephew and Migos bandmate Takeoff, who was shot and killed while with Quavo and others at a Billiards & Bowling alley in Houston in November, 2022.

“I am honored to launch this grant program to honor Take and the countless families that have been affected by gun violence,” Quavo said in a statement. “The Rocket Foundation will be giving out $100,000 in Spark grants to local organizations dedicated to reducing community violence in Atlanta.”

Applications from nonprofit organizations will be accepted until April 21.

Last year, Quavo met with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House to discuss gun violence.
