The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced the list of 2024 inductees.
Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest will be inducted in the Performer Category as artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence has changed the course of rock & roll.
Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton will be honored with Musical Influence Award:.
Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield were selected for the Musical Excellence Award, while the Ahmet Ertegun Award goes to Suzanne de Passe.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will be held on October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The ceremony will stream live on Disney+ with a special airing on ABC at a later date and available on Hulu the next day.
The Inductees were announced live on ABC by Ryan Seacrest and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Lionel Richie during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night episode of “American Idol.” where the Top 14 American Idol finalists took on songs from legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees as America voted live for the Top 12.
