Rod Stewart and Jools Holland have claimed their first collaborative No. 1 album on U.K. Albums Chart with Swing Fever this week.
The first team-up from Highgate-born legend Sir Rod and musical multihyphenate Jools debuts at the summit, outselling its closest competition almost 2:1.
Despite a music and broadcasting career spanning six decades, Swing Fever marks Holland’s first chart-topping record, and it becomes Rod’s 11th as a solo artist. This means Rod now draws level with David Bowie, Taylor Swift and U2 on the list of artists with the most No. 1 albums in the U.K.; all with 11 apiece. The record also tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.
“Are we happy about this, Jools? Totally unexpected,” Stewart told Official Charts.
Holland added, “I’m so happy, this has never happened to me before. I’m absolutely delighted, thank you so much!”
Meanwhile, it’s a third Top 5 album for Scottish rock outfit The Snuts this week, as their third studio record Millennials lands at Number 2.
Millennials also tops the Official Record Store Chart this week.
Barking-born rapper and songwriter Potter Payper also celebrates a third Top 5 album with Thanks For Hating (5).
Red Rum Club claim a career-best and first-time Top 10 with their third studio album Western Approaches at Number 8.
As she kicks off her GUTS World Tour Stateside, Olivia Rodrigo’s former chart-topper GUTS sees a return to the Top 10 this week at No. 10.
